Shooting of woman in Cheetham Hill linked by police to stabbing of teenage boy a day earlier

a woman in her early 30s was shot. Officers were called at around 6pm to reports that a woman had arrived at hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg.She remains in hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.GMP said they are following a number of lines of enquiry as an investigation was launched by detectives.The M.E.N can now reveal the shooting is being linked to the stabbing of a teenage boy in Broughton on Monday (March 8).A 15-year-old boy was stabbed on Albert Park Road after police were alerted to a number of youths seen fighting with blades, local sources have confirmed.They found the injured youth on arrival and he was taken to hospital.His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.It is not clear how.
