direct to your inboxSeveral polling stations across Manchester will change locations for the upcoming local elections in May due to venues being closed or not being Covid secure.Manchester council is carrying out ‘extensive’ risk assessments at all existing and potential polling premises to allow people to safely cast their votes on Thursday, May 6.Polling stations will operate under the same rules as supermarkets, with visitors asked to wear masks and use hand sanitizer.
Ballot boxes will also be regularly cleaned.Every polling station will also have a Covid marshall, while election agents who would usually be allowed to walk around the venue will be more strictly managed.Voters will be casting their ballots for who should be elected in 32.
