Scots are being warned of freezing temperatures in the days ahead with snow predicted to fall before Christmas. The country can expect snow in the second half of the month while weather maps suggest icy conditions from December 19, according to the Met Office.
The country is being told to prepare for more rain and snow on the back of deadly Storms Arwen and Barra. Many people in the north of Scotland were left without electricity after the storms cut cables during gales which were close to 90mph in parts on Monday.
Barra's effects are still being felt while some regions recover from flooding - and while temperatures have been milder, they are now predicted to drop in the days ahead, reports the Mirror.
