A woman has died in a horror hit-and-run collision in Rochdale, police have confirmed. Emergencies services were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Edenfield Road in Norden shortly before 5pm.
The woman, who was aged in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene, GMP said. She hasn't been named. The car involved - believed to be a grey Mercedes or an Audi - 'failed to stop at the scene', the force added, and is likely to have sustained significant damage.
No arrests have been made and an investigation to locate the car and driver is underway. The incident is the latest tragedy on Greater Manchester's roads this weekend.
