Scots train station locked down after man 'assaulted' as emergency crews race to scene

A train station in Inverclyde has been locked down this evening after a man was 'assaulted'. Police were alerted to reports of an attack in the Carwood Street area of Greenock, Inverclyde around 5.30pm.

Emergency services including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service are currently in attendance.As a result of the ongoing incident, Cartsdyke train station has been locked down, with trains unable to stop at the station while mercy crews assist.Scotrail say they are working closely with emergency services while the situation develops.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 5.30pm on Saturday, 16 April, to a report of a man being assaulted in the Carwood Street area of Greenock."Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
