Scots punters hit pubs for last hurrah before new lockdown restrictions come into play tonight

And with yet another unexpected dry autumn day yesterday, drinkers across the country raised a glass to their locals. People were pictured waiting in massive queues outside bars and restaurants in Edinburgh desperate to get inside for their final fling.

Establishments in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Arran, Lothian, and Forth Valley will now only be able to provide takeaways with the temporary measures set to end on Sunday, October 25.
