socially distance.In a bid to brighten their summer, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon relaxed rules to enable children to enjoy more freedom.From today, children under 12 will not have to adhere to the two-metre rule outdoors – unless they are in the shielded group – which means they will also be able to hug their aunties, uncles and cousins.They will be able to meet up with a maximum of eight people at a time from no more than three households – but while the youngsters can ignore the distance rules, adults with them must still keep their distance from other adults in the group.Sturgeon also offered some solace for older children aged 12-17 who will still have to socially distance.They will now be allowed to meet up to eight people at a time.
