A Glasgow great-gran is set to be reunited with her family after battling coronavirus in hospital for a number of weeks. Rena Barr was raced to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where she would be fitted with a steel plate after breaking her arm in a fall, reports Glasgow Live.
The 88-year-old was then transferred to Gartnavel Hospital where she contracted coronavirus ten days later. Nurses feared that Rena wouldn’t make it as her symptoms of Covid-19 became more apparent.The Parkhead pensioner was put on a high amount of oxygen as she struggled to breathe and had a bad cough.But after two weeks and two negative test results, Rena was transferred to another ward where she was able to celebrate her birthday with staff who cared for her and with her
