A Fife family had a lucky escape after a garden storage unit suddenly caught fire causing flames to leap up to the second floor of their house.
Terri Brechin had returned home on Saturday afternoon and realised her house, in Glenrothes, Fife, was filled with thick smoke.
The 23-year-old dashed through to the kitchen to check on her beloved dogs - Marley and Coda - before spotting her neighbour at the kitchen window.
When she stepped outside, she was shocked to discover the plastic unit had caught fire in the sun and left black scorch marks on the ground and wall.Temperatures soared to 23C on Saturday as Scots enjoyed scorching weather during the first weekend of relaxed lockdown restrictions.
