A Scots councillor is urging party members to come together to prevent strikes from council staff "casting a spell over" COP26.
It comes after Glasgow's cleansing workers confirmed they will take industrial action for eight days, beginning on Monday November 1 for eight days, the same day the climate change conference begins.
The strikes follow a pay dispute and poor working conditions with school janitorial and catering staff saying that they may also join if the situation is not resolved by local authority governing body, COSLA.
Conservative group leader councillor Thomas Kerr said that the situation should never have even reached the point where workers felt they had no choice but to take industrial action, according to Glasgow Live.
