Scots care home could be forced to close over 'poor infection prevention and cleanliness' after shock report

Care Inspectorate. The watchdog announced they plan to cancel the registration of Ashwood House in Callander after finding little progress had been made at the home.

An inspection at the beginning of July identified several areas of care - including the cleanliness of the home - that required immediate improvement.Infection prevention and control measures in place were graded as “weak” with inspectors discovering that several areas of the home were not clean.Issues with staffing levels meant residents were often left waiting for long periods of time when requiring help with activities such as eating.

Staff told inspectors that they had not received specific Covid-19 training raising fears that they would not be able to cope if an outbreak.
