A Scots army veteran who survived coronavirus and is now helping frontline workers has told how the disease triggered terrifying flashbacks form his time in the forces.

Bill Convery said he suffered extreme anxiety during his fight against Covid-19, and the deadly virus brought on "troubling" nightmares from his days in the British Army.

The 67-year-old, who served in Oman, Northern Ireland, Cambodia and the Falklands, was struck down with a fever in March and was bedridden for four weeks during his health battle.
