The Supreme Court ruled on June 18 that the Trump administration will not be allowed to pursue its plan to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program created under the Obama administration, which protects children of undocumented immigrants.
DACA has allowed nearly 800,000 young people, known as “Dreamers,” to avoid deportation and remain in the U.S., according to NBC News.
The landmark decision went into detail about how the Trump administration actually played a key role in the court’s conclusion, resulting in a 5-4 vote.
Very little justification was given to the Supreme Court by the Trump administration concerning on what ground’s the program could be eliminated.
