Roll out dates for new PIP and DLA benefits announced - what the changes mean for thousands of people

Child Disability Payment is set to replace Disability Living Allowance (Child) and will be the next new benefit to be introduced by the Scottish Government.In an update to the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday, Cabinet Secretary for Social Security, Shirley-Anne Somerville, said Social Security Scotland will start taking applications from summer 2021 as part of a pilot scheme, ahead of a full roll-out across the country from autumn 2021.This will be followed by the introduction of Adult Disability Payment, which is replacing Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and will be piloted from spring 2022 and available across Scotland by summer 2022.Claimants who currently receive UK Government disability benefits, delivered by the Department for Work.
