A mum from Rochdale has told a court how she almost fed her daughter shards of metal from a jar of baby food, allegedly contaminated by a farmer.Harpreet Kaur-Singh poured the Heinz Sunday chicken dinner into a bowl and was preparing to microwave it when she saw the slivers of metal.Nigel Wright, 45, is on trial at the Old Bailey accused of deliberately spiking the jar as part of a campaign to extort £1.4 million in bitcoin from Tesco.Prosecutors claim he bombarded the supermarket giant with letters and emails claiming he had planted poisoned goods in dozens of stores, and offering to reveal where they were in exchange for the money.Mrs Kaur-Singh today gave evidence at the trial via video-link.She told the court that she had been preparing.
