The runaway Championship leaders stand to be one of the big winners if the SPFL's season ending resolution is given the green light.Scottish clubs have until 5pm on Friday to vote on whether to end the second-tier campaign - plus League One and League Two - immediately.
And a 'yes' vote would send United back to the Premiership next season. But while Neilson is hopeful, he's well aware the decision is out of the club's hands.
He told BT Sport: "Our objective at the start of the season was to get promoted. Obviously we’d have liked to have done that by the usual circumstances.
