'Risk the car being lifted': Police issue drivers with stark warning about bad parking

Police have warned that obstructive parking could lead to you having your car towed away. Greater Manchester Police tweeted a photo of a car blocking a cycle path on Wilmslow Road, South Manchester, with the warning: "Parking like this on Wimslow Road @GMPLongsight will get you ticketed for obstruction and risk the car being lifted." In June 2020, the Department for Transport (DfT) announced that local authorities would be granted more powers to penalise drivers who park or load illegally in mandatory cycle lanes.
