Rangers have asked the SFA that Willie Collum not be involved in any of their matches going forward, it has been reported. The whistler finds himself in the eye of a penalty storm after his stint in the VAR studio for Saturday's 2-1 Celtic derby win.
He failed to penalise Alistair Johnston for a handball in the box, although a still image was later shown that Abdallah Sima was offside in the build up.However, Ibrox chiefs harbour suspicions that the offside call wasn't checked at the time, and Collum simply didn't think Rangers should have been awarded a spot kick in the top of the table clash and that the offside element was looked for later.
They met with SFA beaks today and claimed that the consensus was reached that Colum's offside call was wrong and that offside wasn't even mentioned.
That is strongly disputed by the governing body. One outcome of the meeting with the Govan club's hierarchy was a request that Collum not be allowed any involvement in Light Blues matches going forward.
