SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster is happy to see an agreement reached for Motherwell v Rangers to be moved this weekend. After the Steelmen clinched a Premiership top six slot with a 2-2 draw at Livingston, the fixture was pencilled in for this Sunday as the club's first post-split game.Rangers then lodged a request to Scottish football's hierarchy, asking for it be shifted as they have a Europa League semi-final first leg with RB Leipzig next Thursday. It's now been slotted in for Saturday lunchtime after all relevant parties were satisfied with the terms of the move.Doncaster believes it's a positive step.He told Sky Sports: "We got a request from Rangers to bring that match forward by a day."Clearly, it was important we worked with Motherwell as the home club, with Sky Sports as the broadcaster, and with Police Scotland."I am delighted we have managed to achieve a result and hopefully help a Scottish club in Europe."My thanks goes to all those parties after the huge amount of work that's gone on."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
