Rail timetable changes under fire with Dunblane commuters set to see service diverted

Get the latest top news stories sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletterA local MSP has hit out at proposed train timetable changes which could see a popular service diverted from Dunblane to Alloa from next year.The changes are being proposed by Scotrail as part of a public consultation on their ‘Fit to the Future’ plans, which will see new timetables unveiled across the rail network from May 2022.The timetable tweaks are being mooted by the rail operator in response to what it says are changing customer needs following the pandemic, which has seen only 23 per cent of available seats being used on typical weekdays.As part of the planned timetable, there will be two trains per hour between Edinburgh and Dunblane calling at all.
