To help out, dog expert at Southend Dog Training, Adam Spivey, posted a video to TikTok showing the correct way we should be gripping the lead.

The simple hack will make it safer for both you and your dog. Many of us will pop our hand through the loop of the lead and grab hold of the length, sometimes even wrapping it around our wrists a few times to prevent our excitable dog from pulling.
