Prepay energy customers worried about fuel bills and meter top ups during lockdown

worried about their energy bills. Around two-thirds (65%) of 1,000 energy customers surveyed in January on a non-smart prepay meter said their s pending has increased during lockdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Smart Energy is a campaign to help people understand more about smart meters and their rollout across Scotland, England and Wales as traditional analogue meters are replaced.

Some 57 per cent of people on non-smart prepayment meters said that since the latest restrictions they were quite or very worried about their energy bills.
