Police were 'pushed and kicked at' after a crowd of 'more than 100 people' formed as a man was arrested in south Manchester.

A 'large number of the community appeared' as officers struggled to detain the driver of a car 'linked to drugs', which was earlier seen travelling 'at a very high speed'.

Of the '100-plus' gathered on the street in Moss Side, 'at least 10' surrounded officers. Those people, 'at best could be described as hostile', police said.

Some 'interfered' with the arrest by 'pushing and kicking at officers without the knowledge of what had occurred beforehand'.
