Police investigating a shooting after a crash on a main road in north Manchester have recovered a BMW. A probe was launched after a shot was fired on Cheetham Hill Road, just north of the city centre, following a two-car smash on Monday night (April 11).
No-one was injured in the 'reckless' incident, police said. In an update issued this morning, a spokesperson for the force said a BMW had now been recovered 'thanks to information supplied by the public'. Detectives are continuing to urge anyone who witnessed the incident - which happened at around 11.25pm - to come forward. Superintendent Helen Critchley, from GMP’s City of Manchester district, said: “I would like to thank the members of the public for providing the information that has allowed us to recover a BMW, which is now undergoing forensic examination.
However, we are still appealing for information about the collision and subsequent firearm discharge - we particularly want to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident. “This was a reckless incident but fortunately no-one was injured.
