Police question sixth suspect in relation to murder of 16-year-old

Police are questioning a sixth suspect on suspicion of the murder of 16-year-old Kennie Carter. Kennie died in hospital on Saturday (January 22) night after suffering a fatal wound to the chest following a reported stabbing in Stretford.

Five teenagers - aged between 15 and 17 - were arrested over the weekend to be interviewed by investigators from GMP Major Incident Team, who are continuing to carry out a number of different lines of enquiry.

All six remain detained in separate custody sites across Greater Manchester. Five warrants have been executed as part of the murder inquiry and scenes remain in place around the Thirlwell Avenue area of Stretford.
