Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.A woman has died from a house fire in Blantyre on Friday, July 10, police have confirmed.The 59-year-old’s body was recovered from the scene in Heathcliffe Avenue which saw the roof of the building completely collapse from the blaze.Emergency services were called to the address shortly after 2am on Friday morning and remained there throughout the day extinguishing the fire and securing the area with nearby residents being evacuated.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a fire within a property on Heathcliffe Avenue, Blantyre, around 2.20am on Friday, 10 July, 2020.“The body of a 59-year-old woman was found at the scene.“A joint investigation.
