Police have arrested a man over an alleged assault that took place on the main street of a Lanarkshire town.Rutherglen residents reported seeing a police presence on the Main Street and the surrounding areas on Tuesday night, including a police helicopter hovering overhead.

Cops have since confirmed they were responding to an alleged incident that took place involving a 22-year-old woman.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
