Podcast dubbed 'a real love letter' launched to celebrate National Trust's Castlefield Viaduct sky park

A new podcast series has been launched to mark the opening of the Castlefield Viaduct sky park in what has been dubbed 'a real love letter to the area'.

Built in 1892, and redundant since 1969, the Grade II listed Castlefield Viaduct is a core part of Manchester’s remarkable industrial heritage.

But now, the derelict site has been transformed by the National Trust into a temporary, urban sky garden. Manchester charity Castlefield Forum have played an active role in the pilot project, as one of the partners who will host a community plot on the site.

And the charity has now launched a new podcast series, The Spirit of Castlefield, to help listeners take a deeper dive into the stories behind the conservation area and Castlefield Forum’s involvement in the viaduct scheme.
