Proposals for more housing plus shops at Wester Inch in Bathgate have been met with furious opposition from locals.Persimmon Homes has lodged a planning application for 61 new homes, along with a mixed-use development of five retail and commercial units.The plans have also earmarked land for a “future community facility” on the site at Leyland Road/Simpson Avenue.But the application has attracted over 70 objections, with many saying the proposed development and shops will cause additional traffic – particularly at Wright Place – which will be unsafe for those living nearby.One objector said: “Wright Place cannot take any more throughput from traffic in an already densely populated street where all residents have cars and/or vans.“This would
