PICS: Dublin cottage that caused judges’ fallout makes Home of the Year final

This week’s episode of Home of the Year saw Amanda Bone brand Hugh Wallace’s comments to her ‘stupid’ as the pair disagreed over a Dublin cottage.

The exchange came in the final property the episode showcased — a 1920s Dublin cottage — after the three judges had taken in properties in Co Down and Co Cork too.

First up on the programme was the 1800s mill building in Co Down that architects Rachael and Chris Larmour converted into a family home while keeping the original stone walls and wooden beams.

Hugh was enamoured by these parts of the home saying he loved ‘the original features like the big timber pine beams’. ‘There’s a real respective by the owner of the original fabric of the mill building,’ the esteemed architect added.
