Pennsylvania reaches record high voter registration before deadline

Voter registration in the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania is at a record high, with Monday serving as the deadline to register for the general election.

So far, more than 9 million people have registered out of a population of roughly 13 million, according to data from the state, including 4.2 million Democrats, 3.5 million Republicans, around 895,000 independents and more than 400,000 “other” party affiliates.

As previously reported by Fox News, last year there were about 4 million registered Democrats and 3.2 million registered Republicans.

State data also shows that, through Sept. 10, about 200,000 more Democrats than Republicans who did not vote in 2016 have since canceled their registration.

Florida saw record breaking first day of early voting with millions of ballots cast
Floridians experienced a record-breaking first day of early voting in anticipation of the upcoming November election, with over 3.1 million votes cast.  More than 366,000 of those ballots were cast in-person on the first day, according to statistics from the Florida Division of Elections. The remainder, over 2.6 million voters, opted to vote by mail.  Of the over 3 million ballots, 1,003,891 were cast by Republicans, 1,324,836 by Democrats, 46,892 were identified as "other," while 774,633 had no party affiliation.  Early voting caused long lines throughout the state on Monday, as rows of people stretched around a local public library and various county buildings.

After the Supreme Court on Monday blocked an effort by Pennsylvania Republicans to put a hold on a three-day deadline extension for mail ballots to be received in Pennsylvania, the state GOP is considering further action on the issue next week after Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett is seated and before the presidential election.  The Pennsylvania Supreme Court, claiming emergency jurisdiction, last month extended the deadline for mailed ballots to be received by election officials to Nov. 6, citing potential mail delays and the fact state law technically allows mail ballots to be cast on Election Day.

A man reportedly broke into a northern California home during two teenagers’ remote learning class, prompting their teacher to dial 911.  The man entered the home in Galt through a window, ran through the house and then out a back door before going over a fence, KOVR-TV reported Friday.Two teenage students were near the end of their remote class at the time, and their mother was not home.  Teacher Jennifer Petersen said she realized something was wrong when the teenagers did not log off at the end of the lesson from their home in the community 26 miles southeast of Sacramento. Petersen told the news station she has made a habit of waiting until all her students close out of the window before ending their class sessions.

Hurricane center monitoring tropical activity near Bermuda, may become 'Epsilon'
An area of disturbed weather out over the Atlantic Ocean now has a high chance of developing into the next tropical storm sometime this week, according to forecasters. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami said Monday that an area of showers and thunderstorms have "increased in organization" in a low-pressure system located about 700 miles southeast of Bermuda.  The system has been moving out over the Atlantic for several days but has recently been getting better organized.

Colorado sees record breaking voter turnout, 24 times the rate of 2016
