Several were uncovered concealed in holes in the soil, broken at the neck, with the jagged edged jutting out at the level of the grass.
Hardworking coaches say they have been left 'frustrated' and 'disappointed' at the vandals who have put children using the pitch in 'unnecessary danger'.
The pitch, near Eagley Junior School in Bolton, is used by F.C. Strikerz - a football club run by a team of local volunteers to give children the opportunity to socialise and get active.
