Sam Heughan delighted fans after taking home Esquire magazine's International Man of the Year award 2022. The Balmaclellan-born actor, who has played Jamie Fraser in Outlander since 2013, took home the award on Wednesday night after a ceremony in Spain.

The 42-year-old Scots star was in good company at the ceremony, with tennis star Rafael Nadal taking home the titular Man of the Year accolade.

The Spanish sportsman has had an epic 2022, winning both the Australian Open and the French Open, as well as titles in Acapulco and Melbourne.The Outlander actor stunned in a dark blue velvet tuxedo by Robert Cavalli on the red carpet.

Heughan began his speech in Spanish, before adding: "Thank you Google translate."He continued: "I'm afraid I'm gonna have to go into English here so I do apologise.
