Sunday's Ayrshire Derby between Kilmarnock and Ayr United has been called off after a request from both clubs. It comes amid Covid restrictions, which would have limited the New Year clash to just 500 spectators.Kilmarnock approached United at the end of last week, proposing a delay to the hotly anticipated fixture which will allow a bumper crowd to attend.
The Ayrshire Post understands that Ayr chiefs agreed to the request, on the agreement that their own supporters would be guaranteed a portion of the crowd at any rearranged date, subject to restrictions at that time.
