Manchester’s highly-anticipated new park has taken another step forward this month. Mayfield Park will be the city centre’s first new park in more than 100 years.
Set to open in the autumn, the six and a half acre site will form the first part of a decade’s long regeneration of the area.
It will feature some 120,000 new plants, flowers, and shrubs. Ahead of the opening, the horticultural staff had some help from year 7 students from Dean Trust Ardwick School.

"They are very excited for the opening in the autumn - it is definitely going to make a positive change to the Ardwick area.
