A top Scottish heritage charity could be forced to axe hundreds of staff due to funding shortfalls created by the coronavirus outbreak.The National Trust for Scotland announced it was having to enact a series of emergency actions designed to ensure its future survival.The charity, which looks after some of Scotland's most iconic places, including Culzean Castle, Glencoe, Culloden and Mar Lodge Estate, said it has been forced to place 429 staff in its permanent workforce at risk of redundancy.Chief executive of the Trust Simon Skinner stated that the extreme and unprecedented public health emergency has put the charity’s future in doubt, he said: "This is despite us running the Trust in a financially prudent way, building up our reserves,
