Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Moussa Dembele insists he's grateful for the Parkhead club as he prepares to face them for the first time since his Lyon switch.

The striker moved on from the Hoops in August 2018 after the Ligue 1 side paid a £20million fee. Since then, Dembele has frequently shown the love towards his former club - often in the form of cheeky Tweets after a derby win over Rangers.

He featured as a late substitute in Lyon's defeat to Steven Gerrard's side in the first day of the Veolia Trophy pre-season tournament.

But a post on his team's official Twitter account suggests he'll be given a larger role against Neil Lennon 's men in their clash on Saturday evening.
