A man jailed for his part in a brutal gang murder has died while serving a life sentence. James Connor, 55, was one of six men convicted of killing 39-year-old dad Gary Clampett in a street attack in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, in 2017.
The Scottish Prison Service confirmed he was a prisoner at HMP Grampian when he died. Connor was found guilty - along with John Henderson, Gary Martin, Thomas Martin and Dean Leech - of murdering Gary by hitting him with knives, a machete, a sword, a chain, a hammer and a crowbar.The victim died from massive blood loss after being stabbed twice in the chest.
