Mountains of waste is collected at Wishaw farm clean-up event

More than 80 bags of waste caused by fly-tippers were collected by one group in the space of a single day.And that was just the start of the clean-up operations on the site at Carbarns Farm in Netherton near to the Clyde Walkway.In February The Wishaw Press reported on the scale of the fly-tipping problem which turned a nature spot into an eyesore.And that alerted the Friends of Cambusnethan Priory group who have stepped in and helped clear a lot of the mess left behind.Friends member Angela Kyle said: “The farmer has been very supportive of our group in the past and we felt it was only fair to help him out but we didn’t realise just how much of a mess it was.“We started last Monday and we collected around 80 bags.“Everything was there.
