For the purposes of recording coronavirus cases, Public Health England divides Rochdale up into 25 ‘middle layer super output areas’ (MSOAs).

Of these 15 recorded fewer than three cases during the week to April 23, meaning the virus is officially classed as being ‘suppressed’.

This means previous hotspots - such as Deeplish, Milnrow East and Newhey and Castleton - potentially saw no new cases during that time.
