A Manchester vets has warned of country-wide vaccine shortages after clients have been struggling to book in for vaccination appointments.

Mount Road Veterinary Practise, in Gorton, issued a statement on its Facebook page explaining the reason clients were struggling to book a vaccination appointment. “Along with a major national vet shortage and many practices up and down the country being short staffed, there is now a vaccine shortage", they said. “There has been a huge rise in pet ownership during the pandemic and the vaccine companies can't keep up with the demand (along with other problems).” Since the end of 2019, the UK’s dog population has risen by almost half, from 9.5 million dogs to 12.5 million according to a survey conducted
