Families of the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing have been refused limited access to secret hearings at the continuing inquiry into the atrocity when MI5 will give evidence.
The families, their lawyers, the press and public were already prohibited from attending a fortnight of closed hearings when 14 witnesses are scheduled to give evidence later this year.
Now the chairman of the inquiry, Sir John Saunders, has rejected an application by some of the families to appoint 'special advocates' to look after their interests during the key behind-closed-doors hearings when the opportunities to stop suicide bomber Salman Abedi will be investigated.
