A fly tipper illegally dumped a pile of wood on private land and set it on fire in Salford after being offered just a tenner.

Vincent Bricknell of Buile Hill Drive in Seedley, was seen on nearby CCTV footage with three other men throwing discarded wood into a heap and setting it on fire off Bramley Street last December.

He was captured leaving in a Ford transit van shortly after - with the incident and his registration plate pictured. He has now been caught and ordered to pay more than £1,000 in fines and other costs.

He claimed he had been offered a £10 payment from men from a nearby estate to dump the waste and said he was 'outraged' at being called a fly tipper.
