the accidental fall while attending last Thursday’s The Weeknd concert in Philadelphia. According to police, the 32-year-old Philadelphia native had been sitting on an escalator rail at Lincoln Financial Field — the show’s venue — when he slipped and plunged 40 feet to the ground, ABC reported.
He suffered major head trauma during the fall, the Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to The Post.The unfortunate fan was rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital just after 11 p.m.
and was pronounced dead a few minutes after midnight.Currently, police have ruled out any foul play, and are investigating Sanchez’s death as an accident.
Reps for The Weeknd and Lincoln Financial Field have yet to respond to The Post’s request for comment. Meanwhile, Bob Lange, senior vice president of communications for the Philadelphia Eagles football team, which operates Lincoln Financial Field, has since referred questions to the police, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
