Patrick James, 58, was seen on CCTV pulling up to the Mills Hill Baptist Church in Middleton in a taxi before entering the building on crutches in May 2019.

He was entrusted with the keys from the key holder who had gone on holiday, Manchester Magistrates Court heard. But days later, when Minister James Pate returned, he was met with destruction including stained glass windows, the PA system and two TV screens.
