A 52-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition after being injured with a firework during a vigil in Oldham. Officers were called to reports of the incident just before 9pm on Friday night (November 19) on Huddersfield Road, at the junction with Sandbed Lane, in Delph.

Police are urging anyone who was at the vigil and saw anything to get in touch. Photos from the scene indicate the vigil was held for Reiss Jarvis and Karl Young, who both died when a vehicle they were travelling in came off a carriageway and hit a tree in the Delph area on November 10.
