For all the latest news from in and around Bolton, sign up for the free MyBolton newsletterPlans for a new Lidl supermarket in Bolton along with 43 apartments and four football pitches are set to go before councillors tomorrow.If approved, the proposals would mean a major development at the former Holland Garden Centre off Darwen Road, in Bromley Cross.The 27-acre site chosen for the new supermarket is located on green belt land and part of it is considered to be a site of “biological importance”.But planners have offered to include a retirement living development of 43 apartments, a mix of one and two-bedroom flats.The plans also include a 37-space car park as well as new football pitches - two full size and two junior size - a new club.
