Lucy Dacus is ready to make all your chart-topping house music dreams come true, right now, at this very moment. That's right: the singer-songwriter has covered Cher's 1998 hit "Believe" for Spotify's Singles Series.
Her rendition was released on Wednesday (July 20) along with a new version of "Partner In Crime," a song from her 2021 album Home Video.
Dacus' respect for "Believe," which she calls “huge, expansive, beautiful, heart-pumping, excitement-inducing song,” is even clearer in her rendition.
Instead of positioning the listener in the club, the new "Believe" is about the cold, lonely walk home when the dopamine high has led to a massive comedown.
