Law and District AAC athletes have taken a hugely impressive haul of medals from recent competitions.After taking part in three matches of the Youth Development League, young athletes in the under-13 and under-15 age group competed for Team South Lanarkshire in the final on July 31, taking second place to Giffnock North, and winning 17 medals in the process.Under-15 Owen Murphy won gold in 100m and 200m, and at the same age group, Tehilla Ikechukwu Okonkwo won gold in 100m and 200m.At under-13 level, Cameron Chambers won bronze in 800m; Blair Beverley won bronze in 75m hurdles and gold in shot put ‘B’ final.Jack Duffin won gold in shot put, bronze in high jump and bronze in javelin, while Roisin McClelland won bronze in javelin.At under-15, Aleshia O’Connor was first in 75m hurdles ‘B’ final and third in high jump.Johann Gillon was second in hammer, third in javelin and third in discus.Eva Gray was first in javelin ‘B’ final, and Anna Bondar was first in javelin ‘B’ final.Under-17 and senior athletes endured scorching weather in Aberdeen during the Scottish Championships on August 13 and 14.Under-17 Miya Waldron won gold in hammer with a new personal best of 32.49m.At the same age group, Jade Gray won silver in shot put, and Codie McHolm won bronze in 300m.F20 Liam Nolan won bronze in hammer and set a new Scottish F20 hammer record.Senior Leah Keisler won silver in 400m hurdles, in a new club record of 61.80s.And at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Level 5 track official Rob Dalziel was proud to be officiating at a major international event.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
