The fall in the coronavirus infection rate for Greater Manchester has slowed to almost a standstill, the latest data shows. The region is recording 92 cases per 100,000 people as of today (TUES).
That is almost double the national average which is 54. A total of 2,609 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on 26 March.
The weekly total, which is the most accurate indicator of the overall trend, has decreased by 64 cases which means the infection rate was down 2 per cent in the last week..
Cases have been falling at around 5 per cent a week for some time but that looked set to change as numbers started to bump up again in several regions.
